Vitória Cribb

Vitória Cribb (1996, Rio de Janeiro) é designer e artista XR formada pela Escola Superior de Desenho Industrial da UERJ, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. Filha de pai haitiano e mãe brasileira, Cribb cria e experimenta através de narrativas digitais e visuais que permeiam técnicas como: animações e desenvolvimento de imagens CGI, Realidade Aumentada e Ambientes Imersivos para web. A artista utiliza o ambiente digital como meio para explicitar suas investigações e reflexões atravessadas pelo seu subconsciente enquanto investiga o comportamento social perante o desenvolvimento de novas tecnologias visuais de informação, na sociedade contemporânea. A transposição do seu pensamento através da imaterialidade presente no digital são pontos centrais nas obras desenvolvidas pela artista nos últimos anos.

Em 2022 Vitória Cribb foi nomeada e premiada pelo Prêmio Pipa, relevante prêmio de Arte Contemporânea Brasileira; no mesmo ano, Cribb foi nomeada para o Prêmio CIFO-Ars Electronica, um prêmio com foco em artistas Latino Americanos, organizado pela Fundação Cisneros Fontanals (CIFO) e a Instituição Ars Electronica; em 2021, @ ilusão, filme e instalação digital da artista, foram citados e ganharam destaque em resenhas como o XR panel do The Art Newspaper.

Vitória Cribb (1996, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is a designer and XR artist graduated from the Superior School of Industrial Design at UERJ, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Daughter of a Haitian father and Brazilian mother, Cribb creates and experiment through digital and visual narratives that permeate techniques such as: Animations and CGI image development, Augmented Reality and Immersive Environments for the web. The artist uses the digital environment as a means to explain her investigations and reflections crossed by her subconscious while investigates the social behavior in face of the development of new visual information technologies, in contemporary society. The transposition of her thinking through the immateriality presented in digital are central points in the works developed by the artist in recent years.

In 2022 Vitória Cribb got nominated and awarded the PIPA PRIZE Award, a relevant Brazilian Contemporary Art Prize; in the same year Cribb was nominated to CIFO-Ars Electronica AWARD, a prize with focus on Latin American Artists organized by Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation (CIFO) and Ars Electronica Institution; In 2021 “@illusion”, a film and digital installation by the artist, were mentioned and gained prominence in reviews such as XR panel from The Art Newspaper.
